Academic requirements
Normally a UK lower second-class honours degree (2:2) or accepted equivalent. Relevant professional membership and/or at least five years of planning experience may support non-standard entry. A personal statement, one academic reference and one professional reference are required; an interview may be requested.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall, at least 6.5 in writing and no component below 6.0. Check accepted alternative tests and exemptions with the university.
Course structure
The 180-credit programme combines planning theory, place management, sustainability, research and a dissertation or policy project. Students choose a specialist option; availability can change.
Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), combined spatial and specialist planning degree. Professional membership requires further conditions beyond graduation.
